Happy Deepavali!!
It's 1st November 2005 and it's Deepavali today! Met a friend online and wished her Happy Deepavali, and she asked y wish her Deepavali? So I said Malaysia's a multinational country and we, as citizens, should learn to celebrate every event celebrated by people in this country; especially if it's an event that comes along with a public holiday! :)
Woke up at noon today and thought of going to Bintang Supermarket to buy some touhu to prepare a thai appetizer for my family. When we went into Bintang, saw the super long que and decided to not rush with the Muslims doing their last minute shopping. Went opposite to Al-Salam for nasi beriani instead.
When we reached home, mom said she has bought the stationary bicycle n it would be reaching anytime! I think she noticed that both cm and myself have put on some pounds.. and since she didn't manage to get us to go the gym, so I think she brought the gym to us! hehehe... the stationary bike is here, and is placed at a very strategic location; facing the tele!! We do not have the excuse of not using it now coz mom says we should be on the bike instead of the sofas while watching the idiot box now!
Tried on the bike and it's quite effective! It got me sweating just barely 10 minutes into using it! and that's quite an achievement coz I dont sweat easilly!
ok.. like I said earlier, met a friend online and she was telling me that she has some family problems and her mom's staying with her and her sisters right now. Separated from her dad due to some problems and they r adjusting to their new life now..
Gets me thinking... sometimes, the simplest thing seems to get out of our control! Things that we take for granted, things that have been with us since young, things that we never thought would change. Also got me to realize that nothing's gonna be here forever and nothing remains unchanged over time. So here we are, in an ever-changing world, where people just have to learn to appreciate what we have, and not complaint abt what we do not have or what we deserve better!
and that goes on to make me think that I should appreciate the tiny increment given by my boss and not hope for a promotion during my appraisal session next week... *sigh* well, thinking is easy, but accepting is DARN difficult!!!
ohhh.. and here comes my sis with her fren... arllooo :)
