Weekend to Malacca (3/6/06 - 4/6/06)

Dearie got an ad-hoc case which brought us to Malacca yesterday. Forgot it was a public holiday cum school holiday cum saturday! Left Kajang at 12noon after lunch and washing my wound (the finger looks alright! Doc said it's drying up fine and I can finally wash the wound myself now. Will go back on Tuesday to reconfirm everything's alright :P )

Anywayz, back to the trip, jam started from Nilai ALL THE WAY to Seremban and from the Malacca toll plaza ALL THE WAY to Klebang (where dear's inspection's located!).. and I'm talking about bumper-to-bumper jam here, ok!! Took us more than 3 hours to reach Malacca man!!

After the inspection, headed to Malacca town for someplace to stay. Wanted to stay at some nice places initially, ie, Equatorial, Seri Costa etc... but everything was fully booked, not to mention SUPER EXPENSIVE! (A single room in Equatorial cost RM310 nett WITHOUT breakfast!!! )

Finally ended up at City View Hotel, a budget hotel located next to Tan Kim Hock. It's a not-so-nice hotel, but bearable as the air-cond & bed was ok. But the not-so-ok part was this darn rundowned hotel cost us RM160/night! Damn! Could tell that dear was very agitated that we had to pay such a large sum for a chia-kai hotel, but what could we do? We have been driving around town for so long and I bet he's tired after being stucked in traffic jams and property inspection. Reassured dear that the room is ok and paid up.

Straight after that, walked over to Tan Kim Hock for a bowl of icy cendol. Heavenly thou not as good as how I remembered it was one year ago :P Nevertheless, the gula melaka in the cendol was superbly yummy! hehe..

At night, went to McQuek's place for Satay Celup. Both of us ate 62 sticks! hahaha.. was really yummy but terribly panas! After dinner, went for a short walk at Jonker's Street where I bought a few "useless items" (as what dear calls it :P ).. hahahaha..

The next day, woke up and went for Taiwan Mee at Jalan Hang Tuah. After that, headed back home via the coastal roads as we forsee that the highways would be terribly jammed!!! Passed by kampungs and towns where I havent seen/heard of! From Malacca town, the route was ~ Klebang~Sungai Udang, Masjid Tanah, Ramuan China Besar, Lubok China, Linggi, Rantau, Kuala Sawah and finally Seremban, where we then branched out to the highway. Took us approx. 2 hours to reach Kajang. Not bad, right? Not to mention cheap toll! hahaha

Oh another thing! Before coming back, we had McD at one of the R&R's and was informed by the cashier that we can REFILL our soft drinks at ALL McD branches in the WHOLE of Malaysia!! Apparently, this policy was already out last year, just that McD did not advertise it! So to whoever who's reading this and have not gotto know abt this, dont buy anymore Large soft drinks at McD, yah! hehehe
