First Day At 8th Floor - Annexe Building
Well, what can I say?
Hm... I guess everything went pretty smoothly today. For a start, the traffic was really kind. Had a green wave on the way to work, and manage to upload my touch & go without frustration as there was only 1 car before me.
Reached Mid Valley at 8.50am and started unloading my PC and important files. Half way through, met the Boss and he gave me a short briefing. Called up IT to help me to unload my computer monitor as it was wayyyyyy to heavy. At the same time, got all the relevant forms to get my phone line fixed and email connected. At approx 10am, everything was done, and at the same time, Boss called me to sit in their North Point meeting. Interesting meeting and I guess there'll be alot to do as follow up.. shall wait until the Boss summons me to do the job :)
Meeting ended at 12.30pm. Boss called me into his room and wanted me to do a cashflow to project the rental income for Centre Point (North and South). Gave me some ideas on how to start the ball rolling. I vow to myself that I shall finish this task today itself to show Boss that I'm worthy of what I am getting and I should be getting more! Also wanted to show him that I am independent and am not the small girl he once mentored in UTM, Johore.
Well, I really did manage to complete the cashflow and he was indeed happy. Praised abit and using the projected cashflow that I did, he went to speak to big boss and from there on, edited his presentation for his HOD meeting.
and while doing all the above, my handphone rang non-stop. Each time, only 4 numbers appreared, ie, Permata, Permata2, Aru and Choong. There were endless questions from the people there and it was really quite difficult to settle and solve the questions that they asked as though everything is at Plaza Permata, those people there do not know how to utilize them. It's difficult to teach them as well, coz they're too old to learn, and I literally mean TOO OLD! How do u teach an old man to search for an invoice from a stack of files, take it out, photocopy it, pass a copy to the tenant, make them acknowledge, take their cash, acknowledge the payment and give a temporary receipt? Well, I tried, I really did. But half way through, THEY gave up! Not me! So I guess I'll have to come up with a more appropriate and simple standing instruction so that operations will not be stranded over at the other side. *sigh*
BUT, overall, though I had these minor disturbance from Permata and my place is not furnishes (I do not have proper stationery, I do not have a dustbin, I do not have an in-tray, and I do not have a side table), I'm satisfied with what I accomplished today. I'm happy :)
