Leaving.. all leaving..
Got a sms today that read:
"Dear colleagues & frens, today is my last workingday here. Thanx for d guidance and help that have been given to me. Thanx for everything. Wish you all the best."
Message was sent by a fellow scholar and he's one batch younger than myself. I've been getting these messages since 2 years ago, when our bond with the company was up. Actually, started getting these messages before the bond was up... approximately 5 months before... One of the scholars got a chance to become an air stewardess with darn good pay and remunitions and appealed to HR to let her go before the time was up. The company agreed and now she's a sophisticated beautiful RICH air stewardess flying everywhere around the world.
Next were all my scholar colleagues from the marketing dept, accounts dept, internal audit, contruction dept, etc etc... We use to have these scholars gathering once in a few months just to catch up and to see our fate within the company after uni. And without fail, everytime we meet, everyone would just complaint and complaint saying that scholars arent given the same treatment compared to other colleagues coz we're taken for granted and we cant leave, not until we have worked for 2 years with the company.
Slowly by slowly, the gathering became less often, and the number of ppl attending the gatherings reduced as most of them resigned once they hit the 2-year mark. I've mixed feelings whenever a scholar tell me they're leaving. I'm happy that they've found a new place with better prospects but sad coz there's no one (of the same fate) to talk to anymore. Actually, the number of scholars increase every year, but it's isn't the same anymore. We, the pioner batch with the 2 batches after us, were very close coz we made a point to keep in touch with everyone for support and help and just to trash out our frustration at work.
However, as at to-date, EVERYONE except myself from the pioneer batch AND second batch has left the company. The bunch of scholars from the 3rd batch are left with merely 2 persons, and these 2 beautiful people told me they'll be leaving very soon too... *heavy sigh*
I wonder why everyone leaves once the bond period is over. Is it because we're really underpaid? Is it because we're really ill-treated in the company? Is it because we feel useless coz we feel that we're redundant in the company? Well, I cant really say I feel all the above or else I wouldn't be where I am now...
Anywayz, all else said, I wish these bunch of wonderful people the best of luck and may they find great fortune and future where ever they are...
