Guo Dai Lei

After months and months of saying "It's so near! The date is so near!" , it's FINALLY HERE!

Had the Guo Dai Lei (GDL) Ceremony today, whereby the groom and his relatives would bring the dowry and gifts over to the bride's parents. This ceremony kicks off the wedding countdown as usually, the wedding follows very closely after the GDL.

Dearie and the Cheras sister&BIL reached at approx. 11am, bringing many many RED stuff, namely:-

- 23 boxes of wedding cakes

- abalone (2 cans)

- siu yuk

- liquor (2 bottles)

- fruits

- Dragon & Phoenix candles (2 sets)

- red cloth (for the wedding day) (2 pieces)

- fatt kou (10 pieces)

- "Hei" lamps (2 biji)

- and finally and most importantly, the Red Packet :)

My parents received the above and returned to dearie 2 sparkling juice (untung betul-lah! take 2 XO and give back 2 sparkling juice! wahahaha), 1 can of abalone, a little siu yuk, 3 boxes of cakes, a pair of dragon&phoenix candles, a piece of red cloth, 5 pieces of fatt kou and an angpow packet.

After the ceremony which was more of "Wah! So nice!", "Wah! So red!" , "Come, lets have some tea", everyone adjourned to Restoran Min Heung (known to me as Wan Min) for lunch. After lunch, proceeded to distribute cakes to all the close relatives and reminded them to come for the night-before gathering on 10/11....
