Vaccinations and progress

Brought Anne for her chic pox vaccination on Tuesday (15/9/09). She was in such good mood when I reached home to pick her up to the clinic. I felt the pinch in my heart knowing that she'll be crying her heart out in less than 2 hours :P

Reached the clinic. She was fine. Went to the play area and played with all the toys and playhouse there. Moved a step forward and even played with the kids and the pregnant mommies. An hour plus of waiting (Anne was bubbly and walking everywhere in Britannia), the nurse called Hee Ving Anne.

My dear girl proudly walked by herself into Dr. Khoo's room with us leading her. Was still ok. Everything turned 180deg once she saw Dr. Khoo! Started to pin-chui. Grabbed on to us for dear life! This round was abit better as we could measure how much she weigh. She's 10.48kg now. But after that, everything was chaotic. Anne started crying uncontrollably with big big drops of tears.

Doc said he'll only give Anne the chic pox vaccination and we shall go back next month for the booster jab for pnemococa. I said better be cruel now. Put in two jabs so that we wouldnt need to come back next month and have another crying episode. So ok. Yati held her down, 2 nurses held her hands and legs and Dr. injected both the vaccinations. One on the left thigh and another on the right. Anne was already teresak-esak by then. Poor gal. My heart ached like crazy but we know that all these are for her own good. No matter how she cries also we'll have to get it through.

Like the MMR jab, she might have fever and rashes within 2 weeks from the jab. Gave us some panadol and was adviced to give her 2 dose eventho there's no temperature (just in case).

Anne has been good so far. No temperature. Hopefully all will go well and my jolly lil girl will be healthy and happy so that we dont need to go Britannia again this year. The next vaccination will be in Feb 2010! :)

For progress, at her 13th month now:-
- she can identify body parts (ie, she'll point to her nose, ears, mouth and lift her hand/legs when we ask her to)
- says words like Papa, YeeYee, Ti, book, paper and apple
- she has a REALLY loud voice! REALLY REALLY LOUD!
- nods when you ask her questions (with very innocent eyes summore!)
- 7oz of milk in the morning isnt enough. She'll want bread/cakes to top-up
- We've started to pour water over her head to wash her hair. She is not afraid of the water, but isnt too fond of it either
- have started to allow us to put on hairbands on her head and tie her hair (provided that we tell her that whatever we're putting on her is pretty-pretty) ... hehehe
- her lower teeth (2nos) are fully grown. Upper ones are half way through. No signs of new ones yet
- she'll bring her shoes to you when she wants to wear them and go to the garden
- she knows that birds are those flying things in the sky, Dogs are those 4-legged things that bark and Cats are those furry things that meow
- we have small little bears in each car. everytime she goes into the car, when we ask her where her bear is, she'll pick up her bear and hug them :)
- she knows how to "sayang" us when we ask her to (ie, she'll put her palm on your cheek when we say "sayang mommy")
- still doesnt drink using a sippy cup
- immitates whatever we do (will put her hands to her face when she sees me applying night cream, wipes her face with her hanky when she sees us wiping ours, drinks from the bowl when she sees us drinking soup from it, coughs when we cough, yawns when we yawn, etc)
- she'll imagine that she's holding bits of food and will want to feed us (ie, she'll walk to us and put her fingers into our mouth while saying "mum mum")
- has a temper. when she wants something and if we deny her of it, she'll yell. So far, we do not usually give in. She'll make crying sounds when we take whatever she's holding away. Quite easy to take her attention away though.. eg: if she wants to play with a glass, we take it away and just give her something else that looks more interesting (like a bunch of keys) and she'll forget that she inititally wanted the glass.. kekeke
- still afraid of strangers tho we think she's a lil better now. To try, lets go to PakPak's place! WAHAHAHA
