16th month...
Almost a week ago, on 4/12/09, Anne turned 16-month old.
And yesterday, for the first time in 16months, she got a real prominent blue-black "bungalow" on the forehead :P
Didnt manage to catch a photo of it coz her hair covers the forehead and she's too vain to let us sweep the hair back to take a photo of her blue-black forehead :S It all happened when the mommy was too engrossed in a conversation with the grandpa/grandma. Didnt notice that Anne was trying to get up from her car seat (which is now placed at the living hall, acting as a high chair for makan purposes). Her legs are not long enough to touch ground fr the car seat yet... she tried to stand up by herself by moving her butt.. before we knew it, pooop! she felt to the ground, hitting her head to the floor. Luckily she broke the momentum by supporting herself on her hands first b4 hitting her head or else the condition would be much muchhhhh worst! Mommy was broken hearted when "bungaloaw" came up almost immediately!! but then, aiyaa... chinese saying always goes.. "fall a few times and they'll grow" :S hehe.. anyway, we quickly did hot compress and sayang her... little fella is very strong. cried abit, then continued talking and playing.
When we woke up this morning, the "bungalow" reduced from a 5 storey one to a single story :P I guess there's not much pain as when I tried to massage it, she didnt really move away.
Ok. At 16 months, these are the highlights:-
- FINALLY saying "MOMMY"!!!!! *hip hip hooorraayyyy!!!!!!* ehehehe
- started to say more 'real' words like bag, book, ball, tree, nice, cat, dog, kakak, yee yee, leng leng (as in pretty in canto), etc..
- still learning how to count.. the most accurate number mentioned so far is "TWOOOO".. we'll go "one", she'll go "TWOOOO", then we say "three", and she'll go "four, five, six" and it'll jump straight to "TENN!!!!" hehehe.. but of course the words are not clear.. the tone will be there, but then "five" will come out as "fyeee", and "six" will be "sik" etc...
- shoe size is one size bigger now, from number 4 to number 5
- height is at 93cm, weight unsure
- can sit by herself with a pen paper for almost an hour!
- loves rice, bread, raisins and macaroni... and she doesnt let u feed her.. she'll grab her baby spoon and starts eating on her own.
- has the habit of sleeping on our arm (on our bed) before going down to her own bed
- shows no sign of wanting to wean from her bottle/pacifier
- is stilllllllllll afraid of ppl (namely my godfather!! and some other faces who look unfriendly to her)
- lovessssssssss going to malls. eventho she's super sleepy (with eyes 3/4 close), she still wouldnt sleep and continues "ooo, aahhh" until we go back to the car. Previously, if she was sleepy, all I need to do was to carry her abit or sing to her in her pram and she would doze off.. nothing doing now!
- she definately understands us now.. ie, when dearie says "bring papa the remote". she'll go hunting for the remote control and when she has found it, will bring it to dearie. Same goes when we say "put your toys into the toybox", "close your water bottle", "find your dummy", "sit down and watch tv", etc... the thing she doesnt seem to comprehend (or mayb purposely doesnt wanna understand would be - "Anne, No, dont do that". Whenever we say "No", she'll continue doing what she was doing and will shoot us a "cheeky notty smile".
- knows that she's to wash her hands before and after meals; and wash her hands and legs once she reaches home. Knows how to wipe her legs on the floor rag after we wash her legs
- finally knows how to throw a ball to us when we ask for it. Previously she would just let go of the ball and lets it bounce to us. She now knows how to really throw it to us and expects us to throw it back to her.
- "grants" us kisses when we ask for them, especially if she wants something from us or when she's saying "bye-bye" or "nite-nite" to anyone.
- oh.. dont remember if I mentioned last month, she can say "bye-bye" and "nite nite" VERY clearly now.
- loves to watch Barney (but only some selective dvds. not all barneys tapes tho). Loves to watch cartoons, especially those with singing scenes. also lovessss listening to the song of all the chinese dramas on tv.
- doesnt show any sign that she's into potty training yet.
- doesnt show any sign of knowing ABC yet :P tho she has slowly developed her liking for books, she doesnt seem to be interested in ABC as how she does in 1,2,3.
wokie.. that's quite a long list already. Will continue another time.
