What seemed like forever....
Daddy had a lump at the back of his neck for the longest time. After much persuasion, he finally agreed to consult a specialist at Assunta last Wednesday.
Upon consultation, Doc told him to arrange to have the lump removed. Minor op that can be completed within an hour. At that point of time, (I dont remember how the information flow went), Di had to go with general anesthetic.
Xzan and I had been frowning quietly that our strong pillar (aka daddy) had to go through a general anesthetic. No doubt the op is said to be simple, but to go pengsan, anything might happen! Tho we appeared to be reallllly calm (too calm to be true), we were shivering inside. Alas, on Thursday night, we sms-ed each other (we dont openly talk about these things..) and decided that we should convince Di to go on local anesthetic instead of general. Then in order to claim insurance, just tell the doc that we want to stay a night in the hospital to ensure that everything is good.
Scheduled the operation to be on Saturday (7 Aug). He's to have his blood taken, ECG (heart) checked at 7am, and op to start at 12 noon. So when he consulted the doc on Sat and asked to go on local anesthetic, it was approved and again, doc said it was a minor op and it's not "messy".
Mi was with Di at the hospital from 7am and Xzan/myself arrived at 11am (after the peanutxz did marketing... erm.. actually was just collection of pork and chicken laaaa). Op took what seemed like forever... went in at 12, di said it was completed by abt 1, but he was made to rest in the room until almost 2pm.. Like what Xzan said in her blog, we were all fidgeting in the patient's room, thinking what went wrong ~ ie, why did a one-hour op take almost 2 hours?
Anyway, everything went well, Di came back to our arms smilling and telling us cheesy things that we were all he thought about during the entire op (kekeke..)
And so, again, after what seemed like forever, the results came out today (5 days later) and the cyst that was removed is known as LIPOMA. Mi did a google and below is the finding:-
"Lipoma is the most common uncancerous soft tissue growth. It occurs in all age groups but most often appears in middle age. Multiple Lipomas occur more frequently in men."
Thank god...
And now, we shall all sleep properly at night, no more nightmares, no more frowns and the best of all, no more thinking about how to brainwash the stubborn daddy to have his op and remove the alien at his neck!!!
All the above calls for a grand celebration! :)
