And the cycle re-begins
It has been more than 15 months since I last felt like this, totally drained, blood-less, numb legs, cramped tummy. Yea, you've got it. The ever so hated menstrual pains.
I've not had this feeling for the past 15 month; 10 months while being preggie, and 5 months post giving birth while I was breastfeeding. To those who do not know, women who breastfeed exclusively usually do not get their menstrual so soon after giving birth. Some get it as late as after 1+year, some get it immediately after confinement (like me), but either way, if it comes back, its really little, almost just spotting.
I stopped breastfeeding on 20th this month. Weaned off naturally due to long-stretch hours of non pumping. From the highest count of having 40oz of BM daily, I only had 2oz on the last day. With Dearie's blessings, I stopped all the fenugreek, milktea and pumping on the 20th; which means I've managed to breastfeed (well, not exactly breastfeed pe say as I went on exclusive pumping since month-2!) for more than 5 months. It might be a very short journey for some, but to me, I've done wayyy better compared to Anne. Frankly, given a chance, I'd like to continue giving Jyn BM, especially when we can really see that he prefers BM over FM (formula milk). However, given my work datelines & schedule, it's really not possible to be pumping every 4-hourly at work.
Before I embarked on this BF-ing journey, many mommies told me that BF-ing is the sure way of slimming down n going back to the pre-pregnancy weight. I was hesitant at first and didnt borther monitoring my weight as we clearly had more important things to foces on. However. Ever since I stopped BF a few days ago, I cant help but notice that BF does help keep the weight down. Just 3 days into non-BF and I've added an extra kilo already!! And just for those who dont know, when we're BF-ing, we need to eat/drink alot so that supply replenishes! With that 'enlarged' appetite and given the fact that I've stopped BF, I'm really worried that I'll be a balloon in no time!!
Hm.. Side tracked too much from the initial topic. I originally wanted to say this -
I HATE PMS!!!! grrrrr
Side track again. Sue is leaving on Thursday. Replacement not here yet. Panic mode switched on!
