The first encounter to the dentist
Anne was complaining that her loose tooth was bleeding for 2 days in a row. At first i thought it was just a normal loose tooth and didnt give much thoughts to it. Until she told me that her new tooth is actually out.
Took a close look at the tooth and saw that her permanent tooth has grown, breaking apart the baby tooth! But the baby tooth was not ready to fall off yet. It was loose, but not loose enough.
Asked anne if she'd like a trip to the dentist to check it out and she said yes. So we went the next day.
Once in the dentist's room, I called the lady dentist aside and told her that it was Anne's first encounter with a dentist and pleaded to make it less horrifying for the kids. She understood and did a tremendous job!
Started by letting Anne sit on the chair, explaining to her the various buttons on the machine, talking to her about barbie, telling her how to count her own teeth etc etc. So the dentist broke the ice pretty well.
The dentist said it was an easy job to remove the tooth. We had to take it out as the baby tooth was fractured by the permanent tooth! No jab was required, just some gel. I guess anne didnt expect it to be painful coz all 8 teeth we removed for her previously was painless. So when the dentist pulled out the tooth, she gave a yell and tears started flowing.
Thank goodness it was only for awhile. The dentist then told her to gargle her mouth and bite onto the gauze. She didnt like it and kept spitting it out! Haha.. tears dried when the dentist said mommy will buy her ice cream after the session :)
After Anne's session completed, we let Jyn have his try on the dental chair. The dentist checked his teeth and gum and all looked good :)
Oh! There was another surprising finding! The dentist said that anne has got a filling done! Must have been done in school and she didnt even knew it! Haha.. kids nowadays!
So well.. first encounter to the dentist passed with flying colours! \/
