On blogging...
Had this very short discussion with a good friend and she was saying that she dislike reading blogs as it sounds "stupid" to be reading abt someone's happenings thru it, and feels even more stupid if she were to "reply" to the blog. Also said that when someone asks u to read their blog, it's even worst compared to sending a mass email... I wonder...
Well, what does a blog mean? To many people, it's just a place where they pour out feelings, and a place to recide to after a long day at work. To some others, it's a place where they write down whatever they want, so that friends that are not near them know what's happening around their life. To people like these, many MANY people read their blogs as as the word itself, "blog" means something which is reach-able in the internet world. There's nothing secretive to it and surely, it's not personal. Not "Personal" as in anyone could gain access and read the blog without prior permission and provide views on the entries.
So... what does a blog mean to people like me? I think, for lazy people like me who by chance like to "write", blogging is definately one way out. I would be far too lazy to take a pen to write down my daily happenings, as half way through it, I wont even be able to read my own writting! So, blogging gives an opportunity for us to "write", and whatever that's written can automatically be saved! We dont have to worry that anything typed would be lost just incase our computer goes hay-wire. We also wont need to have a specific computer so long we have a specific blog!
Take for instance today...got an email from a friend, asking me opinions on places to visit/eat at Camerons. It was at that instance that I said "Heck, I haven't got a blog on that!"... so I had to go through the websites that I've been to previously and also go through my multiply website to "regain" memory on places that I've been to. Should I have started re-writting my blog then, I would certainly have pen down the places that I've visited, the pros & cons of Camerons and whatever which deserves to be remembered. That way, I would remember clearly how I felt about Cameron, and would be able to describe to friends who wants to go there.
I totally do not blame this friend of mine when she explained her dislikes on blogs...then again, I'm not sure if she'll see it from my point of view or for that matter, from the view of any blogger. Surely, she can choose not to read, but we, on the other hand, will definately choose to continue blogging :)
