Car Parking Management
It was a cool sunny Sunday. Everything was nice and in-place and we've decided to go for some cny shopping at 1 Utama.
Half way to 1U and it started to pour.. Poured so badly until we could barely see the roads!!! Finally saw the 1U building but couldn't really reached it coz cars were queing to get in... waited and jumped qued and finally entered into the basement parking. AGAIN, cars were everywhere!! Every "park-able" space was taken, and there were a thousand and one cars everywhere looking for space like us! Turned and turned, round and round and after about 35minutes, we decided to quit and looked for the exit. It was almost impossible to "KELUAR" as cars were everywhere!!!
When we finally reached the ticket machine, we anticipated that there would be a problem coz we were in there for slightly more than 1/2 hour but I insisted on not-paying as we didnt manage to find any parking! Sure enough, slid in the ticket, and the bloody barrier didn't open and it says "unpaid". Pressed the intercom and told them to open up, but the voice from the intercom said we had to pay. CM scolded the fellar and said "kalau takda parking kat dalam, jangan bagi orang masuk-lah! Dah masuk, tapi takda parking, masih mau kami bayar!?". The voice decided to keep mum. We had no choice so we put on the hazard light, parked our car at the exit machine and went to look for the autopay machine. On the way, asked a guard why do we have to pay even when there's no parking and the stupid guard said "memang macam tu. Once masuk, kena bayar walaupun tak ada parking." I was already fuming by then, but still didn't say anything as Dear was already very angry. He scolded the guard and told him to go close up the entrance so that others cant come in and wont need to go through what we went through.
After paying (luckilly it was only RM1), headed back to the car, and at the car, were two car park management people. This time, I went up to them and
I said "Kenapa kami masih perlu bayar walaupun takda tempat untuk letak kereta?"
The person said "Memang macam tu. Sini kita bagi 15 minit free parking saje."
I said "15 minit? beritahu Management-lah, tempat letak kerata macam ini mana boleh bagi 15 minit saje? Kami kat sini round untuk 30 minit masih tak dapat tempat-lah!" Kalau nak manage car park, kena guna otak sikit! Car park dah full, tapi masih bagi orang masuk! Dah masuk, takda tempat tapi masih kena bayar!! Apa jenis management ini!
The person said "ya-lah.. kami tahu. Tapi kami kerja saje."
I said "Saya tahu u kerja saje. Tapi kena bagi feedback bagi management lah! Tempat macam ini, siapa mau datang in future!Kalau takda tempat lagi, TUTUP ENTRANCE laH!!!"
Slamp the door hard, put in the ticket, and drove off feeling furious, angry and hungry at the same time.
People always say that the MV car parking/traffic system is bad. I guess it's the same everywhere! I would say that at least the MV guards control the car park better as in they wouldn't let cars to enter the car park when it's full. But at places like 1U, bozo control!!
Then again, all said and done, I think all the car parking managements at our local shopping centres should be given a crash course on how it should operate. Not only just the management, the contruction fellars must also go through this course as they r the people who build and the core solution should come from them!! DUuuhHH... when is Malaysia gonna improve?! DAMN!
