Wedding Weekend...
Started the journey up to Benta, Pahang at approx. 12.45pm. Passed by towns like Bentong and Raub, and many other places (of which I've never heard/seen the names before!!) like Ulu Dong, Temau, Kuala Atok, etc etc..
Reached Benta at around 3.20pm and was greeted by SL and her dashing smile! When we approached her "bungalow" (as she calls it), we saw these bunch of aunties preparing/cooking for dinner. Apparently, friends and relatives from the village will come by for dinner to celebrate the happy occasion. Lingered around looking at photos and eating home-made pau's and kuih's until SL's dad brought us to the motel (the place that we'll be staying for the next 2 nights). The motel is located on the 1st floor of a shophouse. It's way better compared to what I expected it to be! hehehe... It has nice beds, cold air-cond (which doesn't have a remote control! We couldn't control the temperature at night! Could see poor Fong curled up in the middle of the night! teee heee) and the only hiccup was it didn't have water heater. I oooo and ahhhh-ed whenever I touched the water to wet myself :P
At night, proceeded back to SL's house for dinner. There were (I think) a thousand and one people there!!! I bet SL herself didn't know most of the invitees!! The food spread was really good/sumpcious! They even had vegetarian dishes!! Food ranged from chicken, mee, meehoon, various types of balls, kuih, mushroom, curry, veg, fruits, fu chuk, agar-agar, etc etc... Ate to our heart's content, then proceeded to the groom's house to help SL decorate the bridal room.
We tied ribbons everywhere and even contemplated blowing balloons to lighten up the place! But since the bride doesn't too fancy balloons, we kept the idea out. After all the deco, headed back to SL's place, and tadddaaaa, the bride herself brought out my bday cake!!! *blush blush*The girls (and also the bf's :P ) sang a LOUD bday song and then the cake cutting ceremony. Then we, the chi mui's, discussed on the "games" to play with the groom the next morning. Ended the night at abt 12.15am.
11/03/06:

Woke up at around 7.15am, prepared ourselved (all the chi mui's have agreed to wear pink as it's SL's theme colour!) and reached SL's place at 8am. Prepared the wasabi cup-cakes for the groom and heng tai's and got ready to recept the groom. The honking started coming at approx. 9.10am... everybody got so excited!! HS and myself were jumping up and down as if we're the ones getting married!! hahhaha...
The whole groom-playing thingy worked out very well as the
groom was VERY VERY da sporting and he was all ready to "play" with us.. he ate the wasabi cakes, sang songs, said whatever we wanted him to say, did whatever we wanted him to do, and eventually, we opened the door for him to his bride. SL was already smilling super sweetly in the room.Once inside, the groom knelt down and open the ring box (geeezzzz) and the pair exchanged rings.
Then their family had this tradition where the groom had to look for a shoe for the bride and wear it for her before moving out of the room! It's my first encounter with such a tradition. I actually wanted to search for the shoe for the groom, but SL told me he had to look for it himself!! hehee.. chinese traditions! :)
Then was the tea ceremony and photo shots...
After that, proceeded to the groom's house and again, the tea ceremony, photos, etc etc.
We were suppose to h
ead to Kuala Lipis to see-see look-look after all the chinese tradition thingy but the weather was just too hot for us to go anywhere! Therefore, went back to the motel, and initially wanted to take a nap... my dearest roomie talked and talked and talked and refused to lemme sleep!! Finally, I gave up and started talking as well :P hehehe.. but actually, I enjoy all these talking sessions with her! Catched up quite a lot and I'm already missing the two days where we talked and talked like how we would during uni-day... (Yes Fong, I miss u! :P There, I said it! hehehe)
Then, dear got up and stared pumping the balloons needed to decorate the wedding hall the next day. pumped and pumped and we tied and tied... repeated the process until it was time to head to the groom's place for dinner... after returning from dinner, we pumped and pumped and tied and tied again until the whole room was filled with balloons!!!!
12/03/06:
Got up at around 8.30am as AGAIN, my dear roomie didn't allow me to sleep longer!! I almost fainted due to lack of sleep!!! muahahaha... went for breakfast at a coffee shop nearby and it was belanja-ed by HS's bf!! (thank you again!!)
After that, proceeded to the wedding hall to put up the banner and tie the ballons, as well as, put up the reception table.
Went back to the motel to bathe and prepare and checked-out at about 12.45pm to head to the wedding lunch reception.

The lunch was suppose to start at 2pm, but since the bride told us to be there early, we obediently reached the hall at 1pm! hehehe... no one was there yet.. so we took photos, adored the place (as really looked quite grand with 60 tables, nice stage, PA system, etc etc).. at about 1.10, the parents of the bride and the groom arrived and by 1.45pm, almost all the guest were lingering around the hall, snapping photos and congratulating the new couple. Lunch started at 2pm sharp (unlike KL, where 2pm means 5pm!!) and ended at around 4.30pm.
Waited until almost everyone left the place before bidding goodbye to SL...
Reached Kajang at around 8pm, showed DiMi and Xzan the photos and recalled the nice memories over the weekend...
As a summary, I had a good experience of having a wedding lunch out of town, becoming chi mui to my dear housemate/coursemate, cutting a bday cake/stealing the lime light on the eve of SL's wedding night, and 298 photos to reminish on :)
A very nice weekend :)
