Flashbacks! flashbacks!!

At about 9.15pm yesterday, while I was happily eating kua-chi in the hall, dearie surfing the net and Di at the bathroom, suddenly we heard a yell from Mi at the kitchen. Dearie and I rushed to the kitchen to see Mi washing her finger which was bleeding. My knees got weak when I saw the chopping board and the big knife. My brain flew back to the incident that happened almost a year ago (12/5/06) where the scenerio was almost similar. Chopping board, chopping knife, meat at the side and blood dripping! Then Dearie pointed out that the bottle of chilly which Mi was gonna use for cooking the four-angled bean was broken and there were glass pieces next to it. So it wasn't that bad. Mi didn't chopped her finger, nor did the knife touch her. It was just the broken glass that sliced her thumb.

I then asked Mi how was her wound and if she felt ok or if there's any glass inside. She just muttered "hmm.. ah". Well, I assume she's still in shock and didn't borther asking no more. Got some cotton and told her to stop the bleeding. Dearie cleared the glass pieces and Di came running to sayang Mi and told her to sit down and soothed her. Bleeding stopped almost after 5 minutes but Mi was still all cold.. cold and clamy (like how we learnt during our recruit St.John days). I myself was pucat and cold&clamy coz I couldn't stop thinking about how terrible it was when I first got my finger cut!

Urged DiMi to go see the doc coz we didn't have any disinfectant / antibiotic cream at home. Went to the doc and he said though the cut's not very serious, but it's quite deep. Gave Mi 4 stitches and 4 jabs (1 tetanus, and the other 3 (which consist of only 1 dosage) for the block-out to stop bleeding and do the stitches.) Mi said the jabs were super painful and I just replied "now u know"! hahahaha..

Dearie and I cooked dinner while waiting for DiMi to return from the clinic. At abt 10.30, they returned with Mi's thumb wrapped up and she had this continuous pout on her face. haha.. macam budak kecik! Anyway, she could still eat and talk after the bandage and that shows that it wasn't that bad after all.

But the after math? Mi couldn't sleep the entire night coz once she closes her eyes, the incident will auto-repeat in her brain. As for me, well, *sigh* I thought I could very well just forget the whole finger-chopping experience already.. but after what happened last night, my fear for the chopping knife and the chopping board and whatever chop-chop things in the kitchen all came flooding back.. damn! :P
