Recently read another soon-to-be mommy's blog. When I read her post (she's also 33 weeks pregnant), I felt as if I was the one typing it! The type of complaints, the type of pain and anxiety and the excitement and terror... semua sama!!
And a colleague just came back from maternity leave yesterday. Was hearing her stories on how to take care of a newborn, her experience in the maternity ward, yadda yadda... and when I asked her what how she feels abt the whole pregnancy, giving birth and new-mommy thingy, she said the thing that she misses most is being pregnant. I was like "WHAT?!" She said when she sees pregnant women on the street now, she'll feel a pinch and touch her own tummy and will have the "oh.. i'm not pregnant anymore" feeling.. and that got me thinking "that's weird, isn't it??" I mean, yes, you're no longer pregnant, but it's not that much of a different, isnt it? Just that instead of having a moving baby INSIDE you, you have a moving baby in your arms, now.. erm.. right? But I guess having to carry something inside us for 10 months and getting used to it and suddenly to realize there's nothing moving inside anymore.. it should feel a little weird.
and only AFTER reading the blog of the mommy-to-be did I realize that despite all my frequent complaints on everything under the sky, I'm darn happy to feel the baby move at all times (ok. I admit that it's uncomfortable when she moves non-stop when I'm sleeping, but I do smile when she does the 360 degree turn around the tummy).
and it reassures me to finally read that some other mommy-to-be shares the same difficulties and anxieties as I do.. ie, the back pain, the calves aching, swelling feet, the groin pain, the tummy stretches, heartburn, weird dreams, etc etc. But so far, I've yet to come across anyone that shares the same ear-thumbing sensation. It has been almost 6 months now, and I'm still not use to the sound that comes from my left ear. The thum-thum-thum-thum sound, as if a tribe is gonna perform a ritual or something.. I wonder if I'll miss this sound after I deliver! HAHAHA
3 more weeks to go before I reach the safe maturity period. (Books/doc says anytime after 36 weeks [tho still a little early] the baby is safe to come out. ideal timing is between 38-40 weeks). I cant wait.. tho I'm scared to ... to... erm.. to infinity! :P I've yet to meet Dr. Tan to discuss on the birth plan or the type of delivery or pain control stuff.. will do it in our next check-up, ie, 1st week of July.
and it kills me to think that I cant attend da sista's graduation which shall be somewhere in mid August. ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Cant stupid Utar make it mid July or something!??!?!?! I so wanna attend and see her get the scroll on the stage!!!! Or see her throw her graduation hat with her coursemates outside the hall.. or just present her with the large bouquet of flowers! oh gosh! Maybe I'll get Di to video the whole thing down .. but first, pls remind me to teach him how to use the 'Video Function' from the cam! HAHAHA..
