May Day...

Left Kajang early on 1st of May for a short break at Ipoh cum celebrating the Mil's 71st bday. Traffic was heavvvyyyyyy... took us more than 4 hours to reach our destination. Was all ready to introduce Anne to all her cousins, uncles and aunties and to wish the PoPo happy birthday... BUT...

Tears started flowing uncontrollably once she stepped into the room of the restaurant! She wouldnt even let the relatives look at her, what more carry! Cried throughout lunch... had to ask Yati to carry her out of the room and distract her attention. The poor girl's eyes were red and her dress was soaked with tears... Weird thing was, she was perfectly alright when the waiter/waitresses played with her! It's only when the relatives come near that she starts bawling.. sigh...

Anyway... lunch was ok.. nothing to shout about. Some hiccups in between coz the family from Cheras got stucked somewhere in Simpang Pulai.. car brokedown and they only manage to reach the restaurant after we sapu-ed everything :P Was in time for the cake-cutting session tho :P
(More photos can be viewed here.)

After cake cutting and the annual family photo, everyone bersurai and went on their own ways. We checked into Impiana Casuarina Hotel near Ipoh Town.. a very very old hotel... nothing spectacular. Too old to give any positive comments. Luckily the beds were comfortable, air-condition was cold and shower was powerful enough. The rest are secondary.

Didnt manage to go for the famous Ipoh Nga Choi Kai coz it was raining and there were farrrrrr too many people. Ended up at Koh SaMui restaurant at the road behind the nga-choi-kai shop. Superb discovery!!! Nice food, nice ambience, reasonable pricing! Everyone should go try the next time you visit Ipoh. And so now we know that Ipoh has some other nice food besides nga-choi-kai, white coffee, dim-sum and tau fu fah :P

The next day (ie, today; 2/5/09), checked out from hotel at around 12.30pm. oh! forgot to mention that we didnt let Anne play at the swimming pool this time coz there was tooooo many people in the pool. Resorted to let her play in the bath-tub instead.. hehe..

Ok.. after checking out, having lunch at some local chinese 'tai-chau', started our journey back to KL. Stopped by at Angie's place to pass the fullmoon gifts to little Isaac.. (btw Angie, if you're reading this, well done gal... he's a gem! :) )... And again, Anne was her typical self again... my little kampung girl.. started crying once Anthony spoke to her... cried again when Angie came near.. and cried again and again when Ant's parents said "Hi".. Quickly left the house for fear that Anne might wake Isaac up. SIGGHHHhhhhh... Lets dengan sabarnye wait for this crying-phase to pass, ya...

Reached home at around 7.30pm... Pheww.. super da tired. Felt as it we have been on the road for 2 full days... So nice to be home...

Following are some photos of Anne taken in Ipoh... :P
