House Keys
Finally collected our house keys yesterday after receiving the letter from the developer 2 weeks ago! Had to wait as our bank had not release the final 10% of the purchase price. When the bank's letter arrived last Thursday, I hurriedly made appointment to collect the keys coz according to the developer, the defect liability period starts from 12/06/06.
Anyways, collected the keys and signed whatever needed to be signed. Got the handover form for joint inspection and headed to our unit, ie, No. 21 :) The feeling of holding the keys and unlocking the doors for the 1st time to our wholly owned house IS good :)
Looked around and as usual, saw the normal defects...some parts of the wall need to be touch-up with paint, the window/door frames and floor gaps need touch-up as well and some other minor stuff. But dear was particular unhappy as he noticed 3 areas which have signs of leakages. Noted EVERYTHING down in the handover/defect form and faxed it over to the developer today. According to the rep, the main-con would take approx. 2 weeks to rectify our complaints. We shall see how close they will stick to the timing.
Also, dear noticed that the water meters are yet to be installed. Asked the developer rep and he said that it's not their call as they have already made all relevant payments/deposits to Syabas. They cant do anything if Syabas doesn't come with the meters as those special meters cant be purchase from anywhere else.
We also asked abt CF. The rep said it would take another 2 weeks. I think I shall give them another 2 MONTHS instead just so that I wont be dissapointed just incase I dont hear anything from them when 2 week's up :P I'm in this line and I know CF issues cant be predicted! No one can tell when it will be issued by the authorities and it's something that we, as the purchasers, cant push the developers for.
Anywayz, I'm not really dissapointed by all the above as everything that's happening is already to our favour, ie, the house is fully built and handed-over to us. Defects are not super serious and the area is quite friendly. Further, considering the price of the property, we cant really wish for the moon, can we? ;)
