Time suckers...
Hm... After typing the topic of this entry only I realized it's not too suitable, but erm... I like it! hehe.. Anyway, just to clear the air, I'm referring to the books that I'm reading now.
Currently am reading two books. Didnt intentionally do so coz I would normally finish one before I start another (except for Wild Swans where I absolutely couldn't force myself to go on.. hehe)
Started with Keeping Faith by Jodi Picoult. This book was given to me by dearie. Quite a nice book.. very light reading; something like bedtime stories. I'm still very much at the beginning of the book, so cant comment much yet, except that it's not as heart wrenching as The Pact! :P
Keeping Faith is a fiction which revolves around a 7 year old girl, Faith. Talks about how she deals with grief from the separation of her parents. From where I am in the book, Faith has got herself an imaginery friend, whom the phychologists think is God! Her mom, Mariah, who is not a pious Jew, cant bring herself to accept the fact that her daughter is seeing God, but cant find any other explanation to the special behaviour of her daughter.
And the next book, which I just got for FOC today is none other than IGB's Founder, Dato' Tan
Chin Nam's "NEVER SAY I ASSUME". This is his biography that reveals his journey from selling chickens to building homes. It's a much talked about book in my company now where everyone quotes, "Like what our founder say, NEVER say I assume, as he says "Assume" stands for "Making an ASS out of U and ME (ASS-U-ME)" .. hehe.. Though I doubt this book would be as good as Picoult's or even Cecelia Adhern's, or for that matter the rest of the other books I've read, I think I'd still spend some time reading it. It's after all written by the man who gave me my funds to finish my tertiary education! Should at least TRY to understand how he made so much money to sponsor me in hope that I COULD achieve and do the same in future (haha.. dream on lah!!)
