Wakin 2007 Live in Concert - 20th Anniversary

This is one of the very few concerts that started quite punctually, ie, at 8.15pm. Concert was held at the Putra Indoor Stadium and believe it or not, the whole stadium (right until the highest row of seats) were filled with audience.

Emil mesmerized all spectators will his powerful voice, sacarstic jokes and his life journey stories throughout his 20 years as an entertainer. This concert was different compared to the one I attended three years ago. This time round, there was a specific storyline. He sang songs from his very first album until those of which were recorded in his latest cd. Of course I only know abt 10% of what he sang, but nevertheless, very entertained.

His first guest artist was Lee Chee Chung, a local song writer that wrote quite a number of songs for him. 2nd guest artist was Ping Guan, and the last guest artiest was Nic Teo (which appreared at 12.15am!!).

The whole concert was packed with songs/stories/instruments that fellow viewers werent given much chance to take a leak! Everyone was listening to Emil in awe and I, for one, was very facinated by his stamina and vocal power! His voice did not change a slightest bit even when it was touching almost the fifth hour of the presentation! Terrific! Bravo! Bravo!

As mentioned by Emil, many people grew up together with his songs (ie, dearie,SL etc) and the songs he sang that night brought back fond memories of our younger days.

His main aim of the concert was to break his previous record of singing 3.5hours in Malaysia. When he hit 4.15 hours, he shouted with joy when he succeeded in breaking the recond and thanked all Malaysians for giving him the chance and to witness the special moment with him. Faithful fans like dearie was very touched to be able to witness such a memorable event.

The concert ended with climax when he sang "Peng Yu" (friends). Many of the fans left teary-eyed as the concert was really really good. I guess everyone who went for the concert would have left with a big big, satisfied smile and would remember this very day; when Emil Chau sang 4.5hrs in Malaysia on 14th July 2007!
