The week that was...

So many things happened over the last week, or well, maybe the last 2 weeks...

Firstly, I got admitted to Britannia for dehydration.. yes, again for this pregnancy :P Dearie said "cant skip coming in, huh?" :P

Happened when I started puking non-stop on Thursday. Was feeling abit weird on Thursday afternoon during lunch. Only managed to eat 2 spoons of rice before feeling like I was gonna throw up. Manage to hold it until nearly 5pm. Then at 5+, I finally could stand it and rushed to the toilet office and puked all that I ate for perhaps the last 2 months out! Thank god the office toilet is really really clean.. as in, REALLY clean. The bowl was clean, the floor was clean and everything was dry. Because I was puking so much, I had to sit down on the toilet floor and lean onto the bowl (like how I do it at home)... and frankly, I really really am glad that I'm the management of the tower at that moment .. coz if the toilet were some other common toilets (say like the one in Ampang Park!) I guess I would die trying to vomit in that condition! :P

After vomiting in the office toilet, I told colleagues that I couldnt stand it and need to go home. After packing up, on the way to the car park, I threw up another time on the way to the car. This time at the corridor while rushing to head to the toilet at the Concourse floor.. geezz.. I had plastic bags with me, but then I didnt have enough time to pull out and open the bag and some of the clear water that came out from me ended up on the nice clean marble floor.. So sorry cleaners.. I tried not to mess up the place.. i really did!

Then on the way back, in the car, threw up another few rounds. I thank god (for once) that the jam was bad.. I cant imagine how I could have driven and vommitted if the traffic was smooth! But it was pure luck / miracle that I manage to reach home safely.

At home, the puking didnt stop.. from 6pm until 3am the following day, I puked 10 times. Was tremendously hungry but couldnt eat. Drank a sip of milo and vomited a bucket of it out! (ewww). Tried calling Britannia to see if I could be admitted but the midwife on duty said they cant put me on drips unless its with doctor's instruction. Told us to go to the Hospital if I really couldnt stand it. I told dearie we'll wait for Dr. Tan the next morning.

Went to Doc the first thing the next morning. BP read at 80/40; weight has been dropping since the last 2 visits. Doc immediately instructed the nurses to put me on drip as I was really dizzy and had the fainting feel.

But before that, we manage to scan the little one. I insisted on the scan to be sure that eventho I was feeling like sh*t, the little one is fine inside.

The scan revealed that the baby is very healthy. Weight doubled from 80g to 160g in a month. Baby was kicking very actively as well and we finally confirmed the gender..

Anne will be having a BABY BROTHER IN MAY 2011!!!!!!
Everyone, lift your hands!! HIP HIP HOORAY!! :D hehehe

and so, after the scan, I was wheeled up to the ward and was put on drips. What happened there after was no fun. The drips had to be inserted 4 times as my body was too dry.. Once the drip went in, my veins started to bloat and swell.. it was only on the 4th attempt that the doc/midwife manage to get the line in... sakitttttt..
=============================

At home, Anne was not feeling too good as well. 2 days after I got admitted, Anne came down with serious cough and flu. Coughed so much that she could barely sleep at night. Cough led to fever and thereafter runny nose. The poor girl was on medication for a week and was given antibiotics to combat the flu.

Today, after more than a week, her temperature has came back to normal but she's still coughing and has abit of runny nose. We have resorted to using chinese meds (hou jou san) together with cough and runny nose medicine. Anne seem to take chinese meds easier compared to western. When we give her western liquid, she would run away and scream "dont want medicine!!!" .. but when she sees Dearie prepare the chinese meds, she would ask "Anne anne's ar?" and when dearie says "Yes, come and finish it".. she'll voluntarily finish them all.

Over the weekend, I prepared some birdnest for all of us, hoping that it'll improve our condition.

Oh, did I mention that I've got Anne's virus?
I've got a bad sore throat since Friday and throat has since been surrounded with white spots.

Dropped a msg on Dr.Tan's facebook to ask if there's any medication that I could take as I dont want to risk transfering the illness back to Anne or even to Dearie. Dr. Tan was sweet enough to check on me and dropped me a private msg on FB to tell me to go collect medication from the hospital eventho he wasnt there. He called up the nurse, told them what meds to give me and told me to go collect from them even when the clinic was closed. Aihhh.. I love this doc.. hehe

Separately, on 17 Dec, I attended KF's 2nd Annual Business Plan and Budget Meeting at Doubletree Hotel. Unlike last year, I was one of the presenters for PMD this round. It was really quite scary presenting in front of nearly 50 audience of Directors/Chairman/Managers. Thankfully, it was all smooth.

Like the previous year, after the Biz Plan Meeting, we had our Annual Dinner. The theme this year was Royal Regatta and I managed to drag Dearie along with me for the dinner; so I need not drive home after a long day at work :P He was kind enough to come along and entertain me for the night.. :D Didnt manage to get any lucky draw (the whole world was hoping to get the 2nd price of an Ipod rather than the first-a 42' LCD tv)

Such a long post...
am half way through this pregnancy now... ie, in our 20th week.
Have started experiencing Quickening .. actually I felt the movements way before the 20th week but wasnt really sure. However since last week, I was sure that whatever I was feeling are indeed the baby's movement :)

At this juncture, I still do not like eating.. have no cravings (except for the occasional feel of wanting to eat "la la") and still find it difficult to eat healthy food.

I'm very much more active in this pregnancy compared to the time I was pregnant with Anne. Can still walk long periods in malls and stand for hours at work. Hopefully will be able to continue doing this until the last trimester without having too much pain at the lower body.

For now, lets just hope that everyone at home is healthy to receipt the warm and jolly Christmas and New Year celebrations!

Some nice photos of the season :)
