Ipoh Trip (11/8 - 12/8)
Took a drive up north to Ipoh on Saturday (EARLY morning) as Di had arrangements to have a gathering with his college mates.
Detoured to Sitiawan for a SUPER SUMPTIOUS lunch at Kampung Cina, whereby we had crabSSSsss, prawns, fish, sotong, oystersSSss,vege,ABALONE,lai liu ha,ho-chean,coconuts and TODI! Di and Xzan totally loved the todi!
After lunch, proceeded to Ipoh to check-in at Hotel Excelsior. Upon checking in, hurriedly went to town to search for Tong Lee wine shop, as one of our intentions to Ipoh this time round was to get the right wine for the wedding. And thanx to my superb wedding dictionary, aka, Angie, we manage to get the right wine from Tong Lee at a very reasonable price!!!! Thank you Angie!!! muaks muaks muaks! hehehe.. We made the fastest decision ever. The salesgirl opened up one of the bottles, each of us tried a little, unanimous concensus that it was good and wallaaa! bought 3 boxes of it! Everything was done in less than 15 minutes! KENG!
At night, as Di met up with his frens (they have not met for the past 40 YEARS!!!), Dearie, Xzan, Mi and I went for Nga Choi Kai at the famous stall near our hotel. After dinner, lepak abit then went back to the room to rest.
The next day, met up with Di's frens for lunch at one of the local foodcourts (that was suppose to have the best kuetiow soup). Thereafter, proceeded to have the best tau-fu-fa that's located near Restaurant Fu Shan (we vow to try the dim sum there the next round!), and finally, proceeded to Kek Look Tong (one of the non-commercialized caves in Ipoh). Scenery was superb there! Snap a few photos here and there and started our journey back to KL.
On the way back, stopped by at IJN to visit my 3rd uncle whom had just gone through a bypass on Friday. He looks ok.. can talk, can laugh.. but could see that he's in pain. After visiting him, went to Jln Genting Klang for dinner. Stumbled upon Restorant Hou Sik Curry Fish Head and yummm yummmmm... the food there was simply delicious!!!!! MUST go back and try their other dishes another time! :)
