Another episode

Last night wasnt good at all.. none of us slept.

Anne was coughing really badly and the poor girl doesnt know how to bring out the phlegm. She wakes up everytime she coughs as she tends to vomit but nothing comes out. By about 4am, we got so worried that Dearie called Britannia to ask if there were any paed on duty and if Dr. Khoo is working the next morning. I held on to Anne and tears flowed

The next morning, both of us took emergency leave to bring Anne to Dr. Khoo at Taman Desa. He wasnt on duty at Britannina but was at his own clinic instead. Dr. Khoo said all that Anne's having is nothing to do with teething. Modern science/medicine says that teething do not result in a child falling ill. Reason why grandmother stories say teething = fever, loose stool, falling sick is because a child starts teething from 6 months onwards and it's also around the same time where their immunity starts to fall and is prone to all types of illnesses. So 1+1 = 2. (But I dont buy that. I do believe that a child gets uncomfortable and might even fall sick during teething periods :p )

Anyways, Doc changed all medication given by the GP. Previously was antibiotics, flu, cough and fever medicine (all in 2.5ml dosage at a max of 3 times a day). Now its antibiotics (3ml), flu (1.5ml), cough (4 ml!!!!!) and fever (4 ml!!!) and all of it to be taken at least 3 times a day. And on top of that, there's is powdery medication where we're to mix it with 4ml of water and feed it to Anne. It's to desolve phlegm and to clear her chest. And becoz Doc saw that her running nose is quite serious, prescibed nasal drops to dry the mucus as well.

*So cruel for a baby to take so much medicine, right?! :(

So far, Anne has taken the above meds twice. No progress yet. The nasal drops does wonders in drying up the mucus, but it's only short term relief. After some time, the nose gets wet again. My heart feels as tho someone slit it everytime she coughs and jerks from her sarong.

Frankly, at this juncture, I'm quite glad we have Yati here. She manages to feed Anne all the medicine without fuss. When I try to give her the syrups, she'll yell and cry. But when Yati does it, she'll complaint but everything goes it. I'm not sure how she does it... but it doesnt matter anymore. As long as Anne takes the medicine and recovers. It has been 3 days now... *pray pray* Can she pls recover before the weekend comes again?! Plsss...
