Agar-agar for kids
Haze have been really bad. School has been closed for 4 days this week, only reopening on Friday. Anne was supposed to have her final exams from Monday but the whole thing was postponed til one week later, and still depends to the weather of whether it will be carried out next week. Poor girl is getting restless doing all the revisions. But because she has short term memory like her mommy, we have to keep revising with her ..if not, she would forget even the simplest thing --'
To cheer her up, agreed to make agar2 when she requested for it.
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon (tbsp) of agar2 powder
- 70g sugar
- 1 tbsp corn corn starch mixed with 2 tbsp water
- 115ml of coconut milk mixed with 285ml of water (or if we want a healthier option, just use water instead of combo with santan)
- pandan extract (would have put in pandan leave if I had)
Pour sugar and agar2 powder into the pot. Pour water mixture into the pot. Cook until all ingredients are mixed well and no lumps. Add in corn starch mixture. Bring to boil. Scoop into molds. Cool down and fridge for at least 2 hrs. Best served cold :)
(For Dearie's version, put in some fresh passion fruit into the mold before pouring in the agar2 mixture. Sweet and sour all in one! Yumz!) :D
