My single adventure to Sydney (3-8 Nov 2015)

Got to know somewhere in May this year that the KF Asia Pac conference is at Sydney this year. Was at Shanghai 2 years ago and Mumbai last year. Managed to excuse myself from flying the last 2 yrs coz the kids were still very young. Bossman didnt allow me to skip this year tho I've attempted twice ><

Anyway, since its a must-go, might as well make the best out of it. Extended 2nights after the conference to look around Sydney on my own.

First time travelling alone to a foreign country, first time staying in a 5* hotel alone for so many nights and first time flying alone in a plane!

Flight to Sydney was on 3 Nov at 9am. Takes abt 8 hours from KL to Sydney and time difference is 3 hours (Malaysia is 3 hours earlier). Currency was abt RM3.12=$1!

Reached Sydney at around 10pm and it was cold and windy! Supposed to be the start of summer but something must have gone wrong somewhere coz out of 5 nights I was here, it easily rained for 4 nights.. strong wind, cold and wet! Anyway, not much complaints as I really like the cold weather!

The next 2 days were conference, meetings and workshops. Confined within Four Seasons except for 1 session where we were brought by coaches to Bondi (pronounced as Bon-dai) Beach and a night for the Harbour Cruise.

The stay at Four Seasons was really pleasant. Big beds, good service, large rooms. The conference was ok. Got to know the international counterparts and what its like being part of KF international.

When work was done and finished with, a few of us checked out from Four Season and moved to a more affordable hotel was the extended nights were on our own costs. Moved to Pensione Hotel at Chinatown near Townhall Station. Very convenient location but rooms were a tadbit small (prolly cause we were overly pampered at Four Seasons!) Hahaha

Things I did being a single tourist at Sydney:
1) walked round Sydney main town
2) Market City / Paddy's Market
3) Pitt Street Mall
4) Darling Harbour for dinner at Hurricane's and met up with Mabel, a highschool friend and we have not met for 18 years
5) Walked to The Rocks to look-see their weekend market
6) Walked to Circular Quay and Opera House
7) Bondy Beach to see Scultures by the Sea and Harbour Cruise (cost $375 per pax! Luckily this was covered by the company! Haha)
8) Walked around George Street, Golbourne Street and Chinatown area
9) Darling Harbour by night to see their Saturday fireworks at 9pm
10) A walk to The Star casino

11) Queen Victorian Building
12) random breakfasts at local coffee outlets
13) random pastries and dessert and coffee at random shops by the road

Not bad for a first time single tourist, yes? Haha.. went round hunting for gifts as both kids had special request for gifts. Didnt manage to buy anything for myself or dearie as most of the things here are available back home.

As I am tying now, I am actually waiting to board the plane back home. Plane ia at 3.30pm and would reach 8 hours+ later. As much as I loveeeeee holidays, going on holidays without the family is really no fun! Especially not when the kids keep asking when u'd be going home and why am I not home yet. Well well.. going home now!! Cant wait!!!

And now ...for some photos...
